My record is strong and speaks for itself. I won numerous awards for innovative judicial solutions during my years in office. In 2019, I was the only judge in the State of Ohio to receive the Judicial Excellence Award. I received the Distinguished Service Award in 2019 from the bi-partisan statewide Ohio Guardianship Association. I created the first Outpatient Commitment Court program in Franklin County for which I was awarded the Charleta Tavares Champion Award in 2016. I received the Public Elected Official of the Year award in 2016 from the National Association of Social Workers of Ohio, Chapter Region V for developing the first public guardian system in the state of Ohio – the Franklin County Guardianship Service Board. In regards to the Franklin County Guardianship Service Board, I worked in conjunction with elected officials to draft the necessary legislation to address the guardianship problems facing Franklin County and Ohio. This legislation led to the pilot program now known as the Franklin County Guardianship Service Board which eventually served as a model for other public guardianship programs in Ohio.I received the Meritorious Service Award from the Ohio Association of Probate Judges in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
My extensive judicial experience uniquely qualifies me to serve as a judge on Ohio's 5th District Court of Appeals.
